Do I need an account?

No. You can open it and start studying as a guest. Your progress saves on the device you are using. Signing in is optional and only adds syncing across your phone, tablet and laptop.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Install it from your browser and the whole thing runs offline, including every kanji, word, grammar point and reading passage. Nothing is fetched per session, so a train with no signal is fine.

Which JLPT levels does it cover?

N5 through N1: 2,011 kanji, 7,633 vocabulary words, 650 grammar points, 442 verbs and adjectives in the conjugator, and 175 graded reading passages. You choose which levels to study.

How is this different from Anki?

Anki is an empty box you have to fill and tune yourself. SupaJapa ships the content already written and levelled, with one daily queue across kanji, vocab, grammar, conjugation and reading, so there is no deck hunting or card templating.

WaniKani teaches kanji from zero in a fixed order using mnemonics, and stops at kanji and vocabulary. SupaJapa is built for people already partway in: you pick your own levels, and it also drills grammar, every verb and adjective form, and graded reading.

Can I drill just one thing, like te-form or a single JLPT level?

Will this replace my textbook or class?
